Police investigates murder-suicide in Beit Shemesh

A man seemingly stabbed his daughter before killing himself, and the two were found dead by the woman’s brother.

Israel Police is investigating a murder-suicide that happened on Saturday morning in Beit Shemesh, according to an Israel Police spokesperson.

A father in his 40s and his daughter in her 20s were found mother with stab wounds by the woman’s 17-year-old brother in the apartment owned by their mother. The brother immediately called emergency services, and when MDA arrived on the scene, they pronounced the two dead.

The two were identified as Liana Sabanuk, and her father Alexander.

The investigation’s revelations
Israel Police suspected a murder-suicide and opened an investigation that revealed that the woman and her brother had a restraining order against their father and lived with their mother who was the father’s ex-wife.

According to the police report, the father came to the apartment while his daughter was alone and stabbed her before stabbing himself.

Police found the knives that were used at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
