Saudi Arabia’s KSrelief, UNDP sign cooperation program agreement

The Saudi King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSRelief) signed a cooperation program agreement with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in New York City, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Saturday.

Supervisor General of KSRelief Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah and Director of the UNDP Achim Steiner signed the agreement on the sidelines of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

The program aims to exchange information, experiences and knowledge between the two sides, as well as build research and initiatives in the areas of sustainable livelihoods, peace-building efforts, crisis prevention, and recovery.

It also aims to help achieve post-crisis stability, and link development efforts, humanitarian work and peace, SPA added.

Al-Rabeeah stressed that the program comes as part of the Kingdom’s efforts to utilize its capabilities to solve humanitarian issues, as well as to cooperate with the UN, its agencies and organizations, and the international community, in a way that contributes to promoting global humanitarian and relief efforts.
