Security forces, Palestinians clash overnight in wake of Jerusalem shooting

Palestinians fired on IDF soldiers, and a suspect tried to stab Border Police officers in various locations in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Border Police Undercover Unit neutralized a suspect that tried to stab the soldiers during a search of his home in Kfar Aqab on Sunday night, according to a Border Police spokesperson.

When the soldiers arrived to search the home of the suspect, the suspect’s family came out of the house and violent clashes broke out. The suspect soon followed with a knife and tried to stab the Border Police officers, who then shot him.

He was given medical attention on the scene and evacuated to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

In the West Bank, Palestinians fired on IDF soldiers on Monday morning in the village of Araba, southwest of Jenin, Walla reported.

A further seven security prisoners were arrested in Deir Abu Mash’al, northwest of Ramallah.

Israel’s security forces also arrested 19 people from the West Bank on Sunday night who are suspected of involvement in terrorist activity, according to the IDF Spokesperson Unit.
