Elon Musk steps down as Twitter CEO

While Musk hasn’t named the new CEO yet, Wall Street Journal reports it will be Linda Yaccarino, NBC Universal’s head of advertising

Elon Musk has found a replacement for himself as the head of Twitter, and announced that the new CEO – an unnamed lady – will be revealed soon.

Musk also said that he will move to a product and technical role.

On Thursday, Musk tweeted: “Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks! My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.”

Who is the new Twitter chief?
While Musk did not name the new CEO, it was all the chatter on the internet. A Wall Street Journal report claimed that person to be Linda Yaccarino, NBC Universal’s head of advertising.

Linda Yaccarino will reportedly be the next Twitter chief

Yaccarino recently conducted a session with Musk at the ‘Possible’ advertising conference in Miami.

In its report, WSJ said “Ms Yaccarino, chairman of global advertising and partnerships at NBCU, has been with NBCU for more than a decade, where she has been an industry advocate for finding better ways to measure the effectiveness of advertising. As head of NBCU’s advertising sales, she was key in the launch of the company’s ad-supported Peacock streaming service.”

The news would be welcomed by Tesla investors, many of whom have been complaining that Musk has been spending less and less time on his EV and autonomous cars venture ever since his $44 billion purchase of the social media platform.
